Their 4-Year-Old Daughter Has Incurable Cancer; What The Parents Did Will Leave You In Tears

China – Four-year-old Zhao Zihan was diagnosed with retinoblastoma – a fast growing cancer that develops in the retina of the eye – two years ago.

Since then, her life became a long journey of hospital visits and painful medical treatments.

The doctors already removed her left eyeball last year, but the cancer still spread causing a large, painful, malignant tumor to grow on her cheek.

The parents also took her to Beijing’s Tongren Hospital, which specializes in ophthalmology. But they received a sad news that their daughter’s condition was incurable and would be terminal.

Her 27-year-old father, Zhao Lipeng, said, “We hope to find a hospital that will admit our child and help lessen her pain so that she can leave this world peacefully. We can’t bear to see her like this anymore. She is suffering all the time. We have taken her to every hospital and every specialist that we could, and everyone has told us it incurable. There is no hope.”

Heartbroken, the parents were left with no choice but to end their daughter’s suffering. “We want her to leave this life peacefully, not in agony,” says the 25-year-old mother, Lili.

Under current Chinese law, Euthanasia is illegal. However, recent surveys revealed that a majority of people have a tolerant attitude towards the practice.
