Super-Granny! 100 Year Old Mary Smith Fights Off Bullies and Escapes
This is not some ordinary headline.

United Kingdom – Mary Smith, a partially deaf and blind centenarian, was peacefully walking her dog and her neighbour’s in Rugby, Warwickshire when she was attacked by three or four children who turned-out to be thieves.

As the children, whom Smith reports at about the age of ten, grabbed her bag and tried to pull her off of her scooter, she managed to pull the dogs with her in the scooter and drove straight to the attackers who were shocked and scattered immediately at the moment. Mrs. Smith then took the opportunity and escaped on her high-speed mobility scooter.

Consequently, Mary Smith never bothered to report the incident to the police.

77-year-old Rita Doggrell, her daughter who also resides in Rugby, said:

I can’t quite believe the lack of respect these boys showed to a woman of mum’s age, she had just started to go around the path and was taking her own dog and the neighbour’s dog for a walk when they just set upon her. Mum suffers quite badly with blindness and loss of hearing and can only really make out shapes so she couldn’t tell what was happening to begin with. She knows that a group of three or four young boys approached her and started trying to get her out of her mobility scooter. One of them even got onto it at one point.’

It is not Mrs. Smith’s first famed moment, she was also the oldest person in Europe to first try out an innovative cochlear implant earlier this year.
