Vic Sotto Death Hoax: Once clicked, the link redirects to a trojan virus-infected webpage


Is Vic Sotto dead of has become the latest victim of death hoax?

Vic Sotto, originally known as Marvic Castelo Sotto, a Filipino actor, host, comedian and a producer, is the newest victim of a death hoax because of a Facebook scam. The photo of 60-year-old comedian with the logo of Yahoo! News Philippines and link www.gma-channelnews9.tk  made its way online on Friday afternoon, July 25.

The Facebook hoax read: “PAALAM NA BOSSING. SALAMAT SA MARAMING TAON MO SA EAT BULAGA.  🙁 🙁 :(.”

When users click on the post, they’re directed to a page that looks like Facebook which requires download, spreading the virus to thousands of users. No party has been named for starting the video share, but it seems thousands were either victims of the share or incidentally shared the video. Be sure to delete any video posts that is unfamiliar.
