TFC showcases the ‘Galing ng Filipino’ in annual fiestas from Northern to Western Europe

London, United Kingdom (June 20, 2014) – In the tradition of Philippine fiestas parading the great Filipino performances, sights and sounds, The Filipino Channel (TFC) once again spans Europe as it kicks off the TFC Fiesta Caravan and brings the annual One Kapamilya Go! (OKGo!) and Philippine Independence Day celebrations to Pinoys in the continent.

According to ABS-CBN Europe Ltd. Managing Director Edgardo Garcia, this year’s caravan of events brings a different flavor. “Every year, TFC partners with key organizations to bring world-class Filipino talent and the Philippines’ colorful culture closer to Pinoys all over Europe. What makes this year’s celebrations different is that it coincides with TFC’s 20th anniversary, which fittingly highlights the galing or greatness of the Filipino.”

OKGo! goes to Vienna. Kicking off the parade of events is the first ever OK Go! in Vienna staged by the premier Filipino network last June 1 in partnership with ABS-CBN’s Regional Network Group. Steering the event into a colorful mix of musical performances, Pinoy goodies and movies were teleserye stars Piolo Pascual and Angelica Panganiban and dance icons Maja Salvador and Enchong Dee plus comedian Pooh. The event held at the Austria Center Vienna was filled to the brim by 3,000 Filipinos and featured a special screening of “Starting Over Again” starring Pascual and Toni Gonzaga. As early as 10 a.m. Filipinos lined up, reaching the train station which was several meters away from the venue. Tulong Na, Tabang Na, Tayo Na shirts were also sold to continue supporting the survivors of Typhoon Yolanda (international name Haiayan).

Fiesta ng Kalayaan. Week after on June 7 and 8, TFC, in partnership with Bayanihan United Kingdom supported the 116th Philippine Independence Day celebrations at the Morden Park by the London Road in Morden, Surrey with Dee spearheading the festivities and Jon Avila and Ima Castro lending their talents on the second day. “ASAP 19” mainstay up close and personal.

TFC Fiesta Caravan. From North to Central and Eastern Europe, TFC shifted gears to bring the Filipino fiesta to Western Europe, starting in Rome via the Independence Day celebrations with Teleserye Prince Dee back in the driver seat. The Rome Independence Day Celebration held in Piazza Ankara, Rome was staged by TFC in partnership with the Philippine Independence Day Association on June 8. Dee’s fans from their Europe chapter also got the chance to see the Kapamilya heartthrob at the ‘meet-and-greet.’

Yorkshire Barrio Fiesta. This June 28, TFC’s Fiesta Caravan makes a u turn to London for the Yorkshire Barrio Fiesta 2014 happening at the Racecourse, Boroughbridge Road Ripon, North Yorkshire with Rocker Hunk Jericho Rosales now stepping in to bring in his own brand of entertainment. The Yorkshire Barrio Fiesta will be staged in partnership with Yorkshire Maharlika Filipino Club.

Philippine Independence and 12th Philippine-Spain Friendship Day in Madrid. The parade of stars comes back to Western Europe on June 29 via the Philippine Independence and 12th Philippine Spain Friendship Day at the Colegio del Nuestra Senora de Consolacion, Plaza Madre Molas in Madrid. Rosales also returns to the caravan via the event in partnership with the Filipino Community in Madrid.

South of France Summer Festival 2014. The TFC Fiesta Caravan stays over in Western Europe as TFC joins the celebrations in the South of France Summer Festival 2014 on July 5 at Beausoleil in France in partnership with Association of Beausoleil. At this round, Kapamilya Hearthrob Ejay Falcon joins in the fun.

Dublin Barrio Fiesta. The celebrations continue in Western Europe on July 6 as TFC moves to Ireland to delight Filipino fans in the Dublin Barrio Fiesta 2014 in partnership with Bayanihan Entertainment. Falcon goes along with the flow of entertainment as he grooves and moves with Filipino fans together with Prince of Pop Erik Santos who officially joins the TFC Fiesta Caravan in this event to be held in the National Basketball Arena, Tymon Park, Tallaght Dublin 24.

Barrio Fiesta Norway 2014. The celebrations linger as TFC makes a final tour stop at the Barrio Fiesta Norway 2014 on July 12 at Ekeberg Idrettshall, Ekebergveien 101, 117 Oslo with Santos performing at the tour stop. The Barrio Fiesta Norway 2014 will be staged in partnership with Miles Production and Entertainment AS.
